Year 12 Farewell Assembly
Year 12 Farewell Assembly: Celebrating Achievements at St Edward’s College. On Thursday, 26 September, the St Edward’s College community gathered in the ERC for a heartfelt Farewell Assembly to honor the Year 12 graduating class of 2024. Staff, students, and families came together to celebrate not only the culmination of high school but also the remarkable achievements of these young men during their time at the College. The event was filled with nostalgia and pride as the College community reflected on the academic excellence and resilience displayed by the Year 12 students. Special recognition was given to those who completed external study this year, a testament to their commitment to learning beyond traditional classroom boundaries. External study allows students to engage in independent research, projects, and coursework, fostering self-directed learning and a deeper understanding of their subjects. Among the graduates, several students received accolades for their accomplishments in vocational education, we also recognised the outstanding academic achievements of students across various subjects with the first and second place recipients. Towards the end of the assembly the major award recipients were announced including the College Dux. We are proud to announce Christopher Dodd is the 2024 College Dux.  A huge congratulations to Christopher and all the Award Recipients. After receiving a standing ovation from the College community, the College Leaders proceeded to the official tree planting ceremony, a long-standing College tradition, at the lower grounds of the College.  This fulfilled their final duty as ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æÒ•îl students and marked their induction into the College Old Boys' Union. Year 12 Graduation Mass
The Year 12 Graduation Mass celebrated by Father Vince Casey was a fitting farewell for our students and their families. At this Mass one of our students, Abhishek Thomas responded to the Gospel. His response was insightful and exemplified the characteristics that as a staff we aspire to instill in our students after six years at St Edward’s College. The music provided by the students and our music staff was of the highest quality and provided much joy for those in attendance. During supper, after Mass, a wonderful convivial atmosphere prevailed in the foyer of the ERC as students, parents and the staff mingled. A highlight of the night was the rendition of the College song which will live long in the memory of our graduating class. The parent/staff choir surprised and impressed the congregation by performing two songs as a gift to the students. A big thank you to all those who contributed to this delightful occasion. All images and videos shown at the mass will be available in the coming weeks via a link sent to email addresses. Mr Beacroft Director of Mission [foogallery id="55668"]

Founder’s Day Celebration: A Day of Fun, Unity, and Generosity
We are thrilled to share the success of this year's Founder's Day! The entire school community came together for a day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and a shared sense of purpose. Students and staff alike enjoyed participating in a variety of activities that made the day truly special. Some of the standout moments included the ever-popular dunk tank, where brave volunteers took the plunge for a good cause, and the high-energy bubble soccer matches that had everyone on their feet (or off them!). The lolly shop was a sweet treat for all, and the Mario Kart tournament brought out some friendly competition, with cheers echoing throughout the Theatre. But beyond the fun, Founder's Day was also about giving back. Thanks to the generosity of our College community, we raised a significant amount of money for the organisations and charities we support in Kenya. This incredible effort will make a real difference in the lives of those in need, and we couldn’t be more proud of the contributions made by our students and staff. Thank you to everyone who participated, and supported this fantastic event, with a massive thank you to the staff for facilitating and supervising the activities. Founder's Day 2024 will be remembered as a day of joy, unity, and meaningful impact. We look forward to making the next one even better!   [foogallery id="55095"]   [embed]https://youtu.be/9GNv_fiK8zw[/embed]
